Shine the third artist album by Parov Stelar gratifies life´s movements and moods perfectly, the new the old. What we already know about Parov Stelar and what we don´t know. This is obvious to Marcus Füreder aka Parov Stelar too. Sampling Charleston and Jazz, conjuring up new Breakbeat and Pop into a creation of interesting music is no easy task, but Parov Stelar seems to have a sensibility about what it should sound like. Thankfully his worldwide fans agree as the Cinderella story of a new unheard artist from Austria´s third largest city Linz shows no sign of slowing down. In fact, things can only snow roll more as word gets around of the brilliant new music of Parov Stelar. Fans will enjoy traditional Parov Stelar tracks that offer sexiness and sophistication, these same fans will be delighted that this artist is not standing still and resting on his laurels and just repeating the same sound as he gets a little rougher and dirtier in places. This is not elevator music, this is not lounge, this is simply good music with influences and cognitive factors far and wide. Success in something in this case only encourages Parov Stelar to move forward and not to stand still.

karsten john is the resident dj and creative mastermind of vinyl vibes. he is also regularly travelling the world to spread the vibe on selected dance floors around the globe. karsten is known not only for his great taste and the gems out of his record collection, but also for mixing original sounds from past decades with future breaks`n`beats of all kind. a true freestyler who pleases dancers on a funk night in the uk equally well as on a deep house night in brasilia, a disco joint in new york, or on various club nights in sydney, montreal, sao paulo, seattle, barcelona, paris and wherever else he gets invited to.
in 2004 karsten john founded vinyl vibes records, a platform for new talents whose music he collected on his dj trips. the releases earned him even more respect within the scene, and again, stretched the boundaries between the styles. the label gave birth to a handful of heavily played club hits that attracted djs as different as gilles peterson, mr. scruff, kruder & dorfmeister, rainer trüby, makoto, kid loco, jazzanova, quantic or patiffe. straight no chaser journalist dom sevini simply put it this way: "one of the best labels of the year - ace!" |

Der Sänger, Messerwerfer, Pyrotechniker, DJ, Tourmanager, Booker und Lebenszelebrierer verdankt seinen Namen natürlich dem Feuer. Seit 1997 erhitzte er damit etliche Produktionen (Grossfeuerwerke, Spezialeffekte, Illuminationen). Doch damit nicht genug. Dank seiner, 1998 gestarteten Band Belly Culture, konnte Pyro Merz sein Feuer auch musikalisch entfachen. Begeistert von seinem positiven charismatischen Wesen bat ihn Mellow Mark mit auf Tour. Seitdem ist viel passiert. Tourneen mit Saìan Supa Crew und Gentleman waren 2002 nur der Anfang. Es folgten gemeinsame Headlinertouren durch Europa, Cuba und Russland. Nach all den Jahren auf kleinen und großen Bühnen, den Akrobatik- und Jonglierprojekten, den Pyrotechnikaufträgen und den Featurings für andere Künstler, verlangte das Publikum mehr und mehr weitere Pyro-Songs. Ende 2003 trafen dann Scratch Dee und Pyro Merz aufeinander und bastelten am ersten Projekt. Im friesischem Spätfrühling 2004 veröffentlichte Pyro Merz darauf seine Debüt CD Schlafende Kämpfer.
Die unglaubliche Pyro-Liveshow verzaubert mit Energie, Lebensfreude und direkter Äktschon. Musikalisch facettenreich wie das Leben selbst und dennoch klar zusammengehalten von Pyros sehr persönlichem Style. Die Liveshow wird fantastisch umgesetzt von den Ruff Cats, ehemals EasySchore Band, die u.a. für Mellow Mark und Martin Jondo spielen und viele Songs für das neue Album Pyro eingespielt haben. Oder nutzen Sie die knusprigen Vorteile der DJ Show für den Club. Pyro Merz zusammen mit Scratch Dee (OneManBand), Ephraim Mulenga (Gesang), Bombaklaus (Percussion) und seinen Küchenmessern inklusive feurigen Effekten á la brennende Plattenspieler, Bodyburning und Feuerschlucken. All das, zu einer bunten Show komprimiert, ist nun buch- und erlebbar!

It’s a positive musical expression with a playful yet honest approach to topics like love, identity, politics, and the pursuit of happiness. Vincent Van Go Go is peace and unity and and all those other things that won’t be “the new black” for at least another 20 years. It’s experimentation, communication of ideas, inventing something out of the already invented. It’s standing on the shoulders of giants, keeping up the good work. It’s the ability to tour the world with $800 worth of equipment, playing the drums with a broken arm and still sound tight. It’s sex and crime, toil and travel, and the realization that audience is the most important thing in the world. It’s about people, and the importance of going out and meeting them in all shapes, sizes and colors. So far it’s two albums; “Do You Know” (2006) and “People” (2008). It’s a disease slowly but surely spreading throughout Scandinavia, Germany, France, Brazil and the United States. At this point there’s a level 10 danger of contamination in your area and the only treatment is to dance and be happy.
